Welcome to our website and to the start of the new academic year.
We are a “Good” school with great ambition. We have achieved another set of excellent examination results at both GCSE and A Level this summer. The highest ever number of students achieved both English and mathematics (66%) at grade C and above and GCSE results across a wide range of subjects were well above national averages. Our English results were particularly strong, with almost 60% achieving more than the expected level of progress. 94% of students achieved a C or above in Spanish, whilst the highest number of students in the school’s history achieved the English Baccalaureate. This has been achieved in a year where there has been a national decline. At A Level 40% of entries were graded A*-B and there were some outstanding individuals achievements. You can read more about our examination results on this website.
We are a welcoming and friendly school. Our motto of ‘Learning and Achieving Together’ encapsulates all that we do. We have exceptionally high expectations and want all of our students to achieve beyond their potential. We aim to work with every individual child to find their interests and talents and nurture these, so that they can be the best they can be. We believe our students should be happy, feel safe and above all enjoy school. Once these things happen then we can rely on the magic of our outstanding teachers to help the learning happen.
2016/17 will be a very exciting year for the school with record numbers of students joining us, including over 220 in Year 7. As a Business and Enterprise school we are always seeking new opportunities and partnerships through developing business networks. We are currently working with a range businesses, including international companies such as Sertec and local businesses such as Stewart’s Plumbing. We are also a lead school in North Warwickshire for developing careers and employability and have a number of projects ongoing to promote these vital skills for our students across all year groups.
The best way to get a feel for our school is to come and visit us during the school day and have a student led tour. This will enable you to see our amazing students and teachers in actions. We have places in some of our year groups and are always open to having discussions about school admissions. If you are unable to visit us right now take some time to look on our Twitter or Face Book pages and you will see the photos and videos that capture the wealth of activities and student achievement over recent weeks and months. The beauty of working in education is that there is something every day to make us smile or laugh or burst with pride.
Our next Open Evening is Thursday 6th October 6.00-8.00pm.
I look forward to welcoming you to our school.
