Year 9 Win Level 2 Softball Tournament!

Congratulations to our fantastic Year 9 Softball Team who have won the Level 2 Tournament!  Details of the tournament as follows:-

Game 1 - John Henry Newman

A resounding victory in our first game due to some excellent early fielding. Knowing the batting target allowed Tyler Heath and Oscar Jackson to take Coleshill into an early win with high quality home runs.

Game 2 - Grace Academy

This time we had to bat first but a strong team batting performance left Grace with too many runs to chase. Early catches from Tom Fenton and Harvey Woodman-Booth meant they were struggling to achieve their target.

Game 3 - Park Hall Academy

Again, Coleshill’s strong fielding in this game set a very achievable target. Oscar Jackson on bowling duty did an excellent job of striking out three of the opponents. The only player to get round for the opposition was their stand in short stop, Lewis Grant Smith.

Game 4 - CTC Kingshurst Academy

This game was the toughest by a long way. Excellent pitching from the CTC bowler meant our team suffered a meteoric batting collapse after failing to strike the ball into legal territory. Unfortunately, this time our excellent fielding could not stop us losing by 1 run

Game 5 - Smiths Wood Sports College

This was a relatively close run game which swung due to two excellent plays from Coleshill. Firstly when fielding, Tom Allsop caught their batter behind just as their team were beginning to build a strong innings. Then Tyler Heath stormed round with a home run to bring home the win.

They will now progress to the Level 3 Tournament in the coming  months.  Good luck Team and well done!
